    EVENTS COMING UP

    August 10 – Group ride at Harwood’s Mill at 9 am.  Meet by the bulletin board. Ride leader:  Mike Gross.

    August 17 – Group ride at York River State Park at 9 am.  Meet in the parking lot just past the entrance. Ride leader:  Penny Rich.

    August 24 – Group ride at Freedom Park at 9 am.  Meet in the parking lot that is nearest the Interpretive Center.  Ride leader:  Dan Sabin

    August 31 – Group ride at Pocahontas State Park.  Start time TBD.  Meet at the parking lot of the CCC Museum.  Ride leader:  Melanie Storrs.

    September 7 – Group ride at New Quarter Park at 9 am and possible club meeting

    Sept. 20-22 – Fall trip to Douthat State Park.  Potluck dinner on Friday evening and taco fajita dinner on Saturday night.  Group ride is planned for Saturday morning, but there is talk of a Friday ride to Carvins Cove or Snowshoe.  Sign up now at www.evma.org.  Cost is $30 per tent site.  If you plan to RV camp or stay in a cabin, please also register so that you get the emails.  Thank you to Justin Hlavin for organizing the group meals.

    November 2 – Group ride at Freedom Park at 9 am (maybe) and club meeting/lunch in the meeting room at noon.

    More Group Rides – We are trying to get more group rides on the calendar.  You can help by volunteering to be a ride leader.  You don’t have to be fast enough to actually “lead” the ride, you just have to be present in the park for the duration of the ride.  Please contact Melanie Storrs at melanie_storrs@yahoo.com if you can lead a ride.

    Ride with Friends – Are you planning a bike ride for this weekend?  Get on EVMA Chatter and tell others where you are riding. It’s always more fun to ride with friends.

    EVENTS COMING UP

    August 3rd -  Group ride at York River State Park starting at 9 am followed by short club meeting at Alewerks starting at noon.  If it’s too rainy to ride, please still stop by for our meeting.  The Hungry Pug food truck will be there or you can bring your own food.  Please do not bring your own beer.

    EVENTS COMING UP

    July 20th This Saturday, group ride at Harwood’s Mill at 9 am.  Come out for an easy ride before it gets too hot!!!!  The ride will start promptly at 9 in order to get done before it’s too hot.  All riders are required to bring plenty of water.

    Thank you – Thank you to everyone who came out to the benefit for Robert Maye.  It was so nice to see so many friends at the group ride and bar-b-q.  Thank you to Chris Scales for organizing such a great event and to everyone who brought food and a donation.

    EVENTS COMING UP

    May 4 – Group ride starting at 9 am and cookout at noon at York River State Park (no official meeting this month.) Kirk and Penny will be grilling some burgers.  Please bring a side dish to share with the group.

    EVENTS COMING UP

    April 13 – Trail work at York River State Park starting at 9am.  There will be lunch and a brief meeting afterward.  Please bring shovels and gloves as we will start by working on the pump track.  Please bring a side dish (salad, chips, etc.) to share with the group for lunch.  Bring your bike for a group ride after lunch.

    April 28th – Weekend on your Wheels begins the spring season with a free pre-ride from 1pm to 3 pm.  Bring your young mountain biker, ages 3-17, out to enjoy the trails and have some fun.

    April 26-28 – The Raystown trip is Canceled due to a lack of interest.  If you were interested in going, don’t cancel your plans.  EVMA will not have the group site but there are plenty of camping sites available to book on your own.  If you are still going, post on EVMA Chatter to link up with others.

    Raystown Survey – A spring trip to Raystown Lake in Pennsylvania is scheduled for April 25th-28th.  The cost may be $20 per site per night in the group site.  There will likely be potluck dinners both nights (maybe a taco night) and rides on Friday and Saturday.  You should receive a 1-question survey to help us determine who is going so we can adjust the costs.  Please respond.

    EVENTS COMING UP

    Saturday, March 2nd – Group ride and meeting are canceled due to weather.  Dirt Divas may still ride but check EVMA Chatter page for updates.  We are trying to reschedule for next weekend but details have not been finalized.

    Night Rides – This is the LAST WEEK to get in on night rides on Tuesday at Harwood’s Mill, Wednesday at New Quarter and Thursday at Freedom Park as time changes next weekend.  The group will leave at 6 pm sharp so please arrive by 5:45 pm.  Every rider must be out of the park by 8 pm.

    Please remember, stay with the group.  No single riders at night.  Dress for the weather.  Two lights are recommended for all riders.  All riders must sign in and parking passes are required at some parks.  Be safe and have fun!

    OTHER NOTES

    Raystown Survey – A spring trip to Raystown Lake in Pennsylvania is scheduled for April 25th-28th.  The cost may be $20 per site per night in the group site.  There will likely be potluck dinners both nights (maybe a taco night) and rides on Friday and Saturday.  You should receive a 1-question survey to help us determine who is going so we can adjust the costs.  Please respond.
